Day 1: Casablanca ⇢ Rabat

Welcome to Morocco! Your 7-day itinerary begins with a warm meet and greet at the Mohammed V International Airport in Casablanca, where you will be escorted by our friendly local tour guide.

From there, we will embark on a fascinating journey toward the Hassan II Mosque, one of the most impressive architectural wonders in Morocco. During your visit, you’ll have the chance to marvel at the intricate tile work, carved marble, and stunning oceanfront views. As the second-tallest minaret in the world, this mosque is truly a sight to behold!

After the mosque, we’ll make our way to Rabat, the capital of Morocco. There, you’ll visit the Hassan Tower and the Oudayas Kasbah, which are all steeped in rich history and culture.

Finally, we’ll end the day by taking you to your accommodation in Rabat, where you can relax and recharge for the exciting adventures ahead.

Kindly take note that if you arrive at the airport during nighttime, we will transport you straight to your hotel in Casablanca, so that you can unwind and prepare for the tour starting the next day.

After a delicious breakfast at your hotel/riad, we will start our journey towards Chefchaouen, a beautiful town in the Rif Mountains of northern Morocco. The drive from Rabat to Chefchaouen takes around four hours, and along the way, you’ll pass through stunning landscapes of rolling hills and picturesque villages.

Upon your arrival in Chefchaouen, you’ll check-in at your hotel/riad and have some leisure time to explore the city and its famous blue-painted streets. Chefchaouen is known for its striking blue-washed buildings, which give the city a unique and picturesque appearance. You can wander through the narrow streets and alleys of the medina (old town), visit the bustling souks (markets), or relax at one of the many cafes or restaurants that offer delicious Moroccan cuisine.

After having breakfast at your Riad, your day will begin with a scenic drive through the picturesque Rif villages. You’ll experience the beauty of the Moroccan countryside before arriving at Volubilis, which was once a Roman city.

Here, you’ll have the chance to explore the ruins of this ancient city and learn about its fascinating history. Volubilis is known for its well-preserved mosaics and the grandeur of its public buildings, which date back to the 3rd century. Walking through the ruins will give you a glimpse of the lives of the Romans who once lived here.

After discovering the ruins of Volubilis, we’ll head towards Meknes, a 17th-century city that was once the capital of Morocco.

After lunch here, we’ll head towards the city’s medina, a walled old town that is home to the famous Bab el Mansour gate.

The Bab el Mansour gate is one of the most impressive gates in Morocco, with detailed designs and beautiful carvings. You’ll also have the chance to visit the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail, a religious site dedicated to the famous Sultan Moulay Ismail.

After a day of exploring Volubilis and Meknes, we’ll head to Fes, where you’ll spend the night in a beautiful Riad.

Today, set out on an exciting full-day tour with a local guide to explore the vibrant city of Fes, known for its rich history and culture. As one of Morocco’s imperial cities and the cultural and religious center of the country, Fes boasts a wealth of historical and cultural treasures waiting to be discovered.

Start your tour by visiting the Royal Palace gate before immersing yourself in the maze-like alleyways and streets of the medieval Medina, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Here, you will visit Al-Qarawiyyin University, the Al-Attarine Madrasa, the Nejjarine fountain, and the Chouara Tanneries. Admire the stunning architecture and intricate details of these historic landmarks.

Continue your journey to the Jewish quarter, also known as “the Mellah”, where you can learn about the fascinating history of the Jewish community in Fes. Finally, head to an ancient fortress to take in the panoramic view of the Medina and the city of Fes before returning to your Riad. After breakfast at your riad in Fes, we will head to the desert. You’ll embark on a journey to the desert, driving south towards Merzouga. Along the way, you’ll stop in the city of Ifrane for a quick break and a chance to take in the scenery.

Next, you’ll continue on to a cedar forest in the Middle Atlas Mountains, where you’ll watch some Barbary apes. After that, you’ll have lunch at a restaurant along the way before continuing to the Ziz Valley, known for its oasis full of palm trees.

In the afternoon, you’ll reach the desert and begin your authentic camel caravan across the sand dunes of Erg Chebbi. As you trek through the desert, you’ll stop to watch a golden sunset from a high dune. Then, you’ll continue to your luxury camp in the desert.

Upon arrival, you’ll be shown to your private tent to relax and freshen up. After a delicious dinner, you’ll gather around a bonfire under the starry sky while your camp staff plays drums and sings Berber music. You’ll also have the opportunity to learn how to play drums.

There, your driver will be waiting to take you on the next leg of your tour to Dades Gorge.

During the journey, you’ll have the opportunity to explore many fascinating places, including the traditional market in Rissani (if you happen to visit on a market day – Sunday, Tuesday, or Thursday). You’ll also get to stroll through the breathtaking Todra Gorge, soaking in the stunning views of the Todra River and the Dades River.

As you make your way to Dades Gorge, be prepared to be awestruck by the incredible rock formations that resemble monkey fingers. You’ll also get to drive along the Dades Valley and take in a panoramic view of the Gorges before finally arriving at your hotel for the evening.
